Sea Lion
About: Sea lions haul out in large colonies on rocks and sandy shores on the Islands. They move into the water to feed and cool off as needed. Sea lions are pinnipeds characterized by external ear flaps, long foreflippers, the ability to walk on all fours, short, thick hair, and a big chest and belly. hey have an average lifespan of 20–30 years.
Habitat: Subarctic to tropical waters in both Northern and Southern hemispheres. Excluding the atlantic ocean.
Food: Fish and birds.
Threats: Reduced food supply, climate change, pollution and disease.
